Designed for the brand BALMUDA, this hydroponic herb garden reflects the brand’s form language, materials, and aesthetics through a detailed analysis of its product line. It features four herb pods and a convenient window to monitor water levels. The central lighting system offers adjustable color hues and a timer to match your plants’ ideal growth cycle.
Balmuda creates every-day home appliances that communicate elegance through primitive geometric forms. They favor a monochromatic color scheme that transitions between plastic, glass, and metallic surfaces. Each product incorporates the use of lighting to create a pleasant user experience.
After exploring multiple design iterations to capture BALMUDA’s distinctive form language, a 3D model was created to represent an accurate scale of the herb garden. This model served as a backplate for further ideation sketches, enabling rapid exploration of new concepts while ensuring consistency with the brand’s aesthetic and functional considerations.
The final design includes four herb pods, a
water-level monitoring window, and a central lighting system with adjustable color hues.
